Membership:
Membership in SAND is open to children of all ages, regardless of sex, race, color, creed or national origin. Membership and placement in practice groups will be based upon athletic talent, skill progression, consistent practice attendance and proper behavior. The coaching staff reserves the right to dismiss a member for any conduct deemed inappropriate or unacceptable.
Membership Termination:
Team membership can be terminated for failure to support SAND, failure to pay dues, for failure to follow SAND Policies and Procedures, Travel Code of Conduct, team rules or for any action considered detrimental to the team.
If a member no longer desires to participate in any SAND activities, then the member must provide a notice of membership termination to the Head Coach. The notice should be in writing (e-mail is acceptable).
Tuition Policy:
- Payment for tuition is due on or by the 1st of the month. You may pay by check to your program instructor made payable to San Antonio Divers or through the website or Pay Pal ([email protected])
- If we have not received your payment by the 3rd of the month, we will send a reminder of tuition being due notice.
- There is a $20 late fee for payment that is made after the 5th of the month, no exceptions.
- If we have not received your full tuition payment (including late fee) by the 10th of the month, we will not be able to have your diver on deck with a coach; the diver will be asked to remain in the stands.
- If you are having a family financial concern and need to discuss the situation and tuition payment, please email Coach Allison on or by the 3rd of the month.
- Pro-rating: We charge a flat rate for the month. If you need to schedule a make-up lesson, please discuss with your divers program instructor.
- Review of diver individual team placement will occur as skills develop and will be communicated with families as determined. Keep in mind that placement within SAND Team will incur annual team fees
- Please verify that you have completed the registration page for your diver
Team Annual Registration Fee:
Each team member (Future Champion, Junior Olympic and National Team) is required to pay a one-time annual registration fee. This fee includes the diver’s AAU Membership for SAND and covers administration fees. The fee does not include USA Diving Membership fees, please discuss with coach prior to purchase of USA Diving Membership.
Team Travel Fee:
Each team member (Future Champion, Junior Olympic and National Team) is required to pay an annual travel fee. This fee is assessed to all active team members whether you plan to travel or not. Partial payments for travel fees are accepted. This fee includes the coaches travel expense. SAND does not pro-rate annual travel fee. If you decide to not travel to meets, you are responsible for the entire travel fee. Travel fees may be paid in increments.
Team Monthly Tuition Fee:
Each team member (Future Champion, Junior Olympic and National Team) is required to pay monthly tuition fee, coaching fee. Fees are paid for 11 months, starting in September and concluding at the end of July. Please note, we take the month of August off. Please see the FAQ page for level specific amounts and for tuition payment policy.
Meets and Competitions:
Competitive Dive Meets are hosted year round. The Head Coach for San Antonio Divers determines the competitive dive schedule that all eligible athletes are expected to register and attend. Diver eligibility is determined by the individual coach. If you are unsure if your diver is eligible to attend a meet, please discuss with your individual coach. The meet host team determines the criteria of competition, meaning the host team determines what dives are required by level. Your individual coach will determine what dives should be registered by your diver to compete. It is your divers responsibility to request and receive an appropriate dive meet list.
Travel Meet Information:
Traveling to other cities is an excellent way to test a diver’s developing skills.
SAND Team will attend several away meets during the season.
Future Champions Team athletes will travel within the state (see meets listed above as Novice & Future Champions).
National and JO Teams will travel within the state and out of state (see meets listed above as JO & National).
Parents are required to travel with athletes under the age of eighteen.

All team members will adhere to the code of conduct set by the coaches for the meet.
The coaching staff and the chaperone(s) are responsible for enforcing the code and will have the authority to impose penalties for infractions of the code. All of these policies are adopted to preserve

- You must attend all team meetings, warm-ups, practices and events leading up to the specific meet; as outlined by coach
- You must be on time. Remember being 15 minutes early is considered on-time.
- A curfew will be set for all travel. All divers will be in their room and quite after curfew.
- All city and state laws will be observed.
- Drinking and Drugs are not tolerated
- Be courteous to your roommates and other hotel guest
- Refrain from physical activity outside of competition. Examples: playing in the ocean, running on the beach, etc. can have a negative impact on your performance at the meet.
