Competitive Diving Details
San Antonio Divers is a skill-based competitive diving program. Divers progress through clearly defined levels based on skill mastery, dryland development, training readiness and competitive experience.
SAND National Team-
The National Team represents the highest level in our program. These athletes have developed advanced competitive dive lists and achieved qualifying standards for national-level competition. Training at this level focuses on advanced technical development, consistency and preparation for national level competition.
Junior Olympic- Levels 7-9
The Junior Olympic Team is our advanced competitive training group. Athletes at this level have developed strong diving fundamentals and are developing competitive lists on both 1 meter and 3 meter.
Athletes continue to increase degree of difficulty while developing consistency, technique and advanced skills through both water through both water and dryland training.
J.O. divers train four days per week. Placement is based on skill progression both water and dryland, training readiness and coach approval.
Intermediate Team- Levels 5-6
The Intermediate Team is for the divers progressing toward the Junior Olympic level, Divers build complete voluntary lists while developing optional dives and more advanced water and dryland skills.
This group trains 2-3 days per week.
Novice Teams:
Future Champions 2- Levels 3-4
Future Champions 2 is for developing competitive divers who are building their voluntary dives and beginning optional skills through both water and dryland training. Divers on this team are expected to attend local and statewide competition and train 2-3 days per week.
Future Champions 1- Levels 1-2
Future Champions 1 is our introductory competitive group. Divers focus on learning basic diving skills and building strong fundamentals through both water and dryland training. This group trains 2 hours per week and competes in local meets.
